TacoCraft Restaurant Spotlight

TacoCraft Restaurant Spotlight

For many years, we have been supplying Marc Falsetto of Jey Hospitality Group (JEY) with our taco boards. Tacocraft is JEY’s taqueria and tequila bar that features more than 100 tequilas and a menu of 15 tacos in a setting defined by reclaimed wood, graffiti art, and a notable L.A.–style vibe.

The group’s Himmarshee Public House is an American-style tavern in Fort Lauderdale that turns into more of a bar and lounge at night. And Pizzacraft, in the same city, specializes in wood-fired artisan pizza and Old World Italian dishes. Attached to Pizzacraft is J.E.Y.’s hidden speakeasy cocktail bar, Apothecary.

The popular regional chain Tacocraft bills itself as “a semi-authentic boutique taqueria and tequila bar; known for tacos made with fresh-pressed corn tortillas using a recipe that has been handed down from generation to generation. Guests come for contemporary interpretations of traditional Mexican street food, all of which are made with the best available local, seasonal and sustainable ingredients.

For lunch or dinner, try the Baja fish or crispy pork taco made with adobo-chile rub, cotija cheese, charred pineapple, salsa verde, crema adobo-chile rub, cotija cheese, charred pineapple, salsa verde and crema. Oh yum, yum!

For brunch, try the skirt steak and huevos or the huevos rancheros. If you are looking for a good cocktail to pair with brunch, go for a bloody Maria instead of the classic bloody Mary.

Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse

Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse

A Sparkling Celebration

Sea Cider is a farm-based cidery located on the Saanich Peninsula just minutes from Victoria, on Vancouver Island. The ten-acre farm is home to over 1,300 apple trees, made up of over 50 varieties of heritage apples and has become one of the top Agri-Tourism Attractions in Victoria (Vancouver Island).

Sea Cider opened its farm gate for business in 2007 when owner Kristen Jordan purchased the property with a vision of creating an organic farm and orchard and producing traditionally fermented artisan ciders. Kristen is a sixth-generation farmer; having roots in both the Shuswap and on the Saanich Peninsula.

Since then, they’ve grown an annual cider production of over 7,000 cases and growing and continue to pride themselves on crafting traditionally fermented ciders from organically grown apples. Relax at their cider house (they have COVID protocol in place) and enjoy the panoramic water views overlooking the orchard and across Haro Strait.

Sea Cider is a fabulous venue for small weddings, corporate events, family functions and wellness retreats.

We feel privileged being involved in this tasty, successful local establishment. We have provided tasting flight boards and cribbage boards.

Charcuterie Boards For Charity

Charcuterie Boards For Charity

We were recently approached by a team of students from the Entrepreneurial Management Program at Royal Roads University. As a requirement of their studies towards a Bachelor of Commerce, they were tasked to run an eCommerce website for 1 month and donate all of the proceeds to charity. This team decided to custom laser engrave charcuterie boards and donate the funds to the Mustard Seed.

Knowing we’d like to help and yet not knowing the fit, I met with Rick Clark. They were keen to source a local product, and with a little sweat equity on Rick’s part, they soon had a nice selection of wood charcuterie boards and serving platters ready for sale.

Check out their online store at Do a little ‘feel good’ shopping.
