BATU DECKING & TILES

Natural & Uniquely Beautiful Outdoor Deck Solution

Few hardwoods can compare to it’s natural beauty. Batu is a type of Red Balau and is 100% legally harvested in Indonesia. It has a rich, dark, mahogany like hue but with deeper red undertones that make it stand out from others species. It’s dense grain and nice, even texture is great for applying finishes.

Durability

Incredibly durable with a comparable strength and density to Ipe. Used for boardwalks, bridges, wharves, and of course decking. Very resistant to decay, insects and fungal attack. Batu can thrive in any environment from dry and hot to humid and tropical. Resistant to abrasions, wear, and dents; it is also naturally fire resistant.

Treated or not, Batu will maintain it’s beauty and structural integrity for 30, 40 or even 50 years.

Tile slats are pre-secured with stainless steel screws and join together easily with a metal square bracket, no screwing necessary! Here’s how:

Installing your new Batu Hardwood Deck Tiles:

  1. Clean and prepare flat surface
  2. Lay deck tiles starting from one side and working outward, placing the provided aluminum clips into the grooves on the bottom side of the tile.
  3. Use circular saw to cut deck tiles to any angle or shape required

No nails, screws or glue needed. Just make sure your tiles are installed on a flat, well drained surface and secured properly with the fasteners so your tiles will not move.

Just like the regular Batu decking, the tiles can also be left natural to silver out or you can stain after installation using a penetrating wood stain such as Ipe Oil with UV Protection.

This natural wood finish has been produced with professional results in mind. It’s U.V barrier formula is an oil base that protects and conditions wood like Ipe, Mahogany, Batu, Cumaru, Tigerwood, the densest of exotic hardwoods. Provides exceptional penetration, water repellency and U.V. protection.
