Scientific name: Chlorocardium rodiei (syn. Ocotea rodiei)
This species originates from Northeastern South America. It’s heartwood is a pale olive green color with darker streaks and yellowish green sapwood may be found throughout but is hard to distinguish from the heartwood. A very stiff wood (perhaps the stiffest) it is used in boat building, docks, decking, pool cues, fishing rods and similar items that require strength.
